Why Have a Certified Pesticide Applicator (CPA)?

Core

The Core examination is mandatory for all candidates and is a pre-requisite to take a Specialty examination.

Candidates who pass the Core examination will receive a Certified Pesticide Applicator Assistant Certificate.

Specialty

Upon passing the Core examination, candidate can choose at least ONE of the TEN specialties.

Candidates who pass the specialty examination will receive a Certified Pesticide Applicator Certificate.

Certified Pesticide Applicator is authorized to decide what pesticide and instruction to spray

Specialty Module - 1 Week

Candidates must choose one of the ten (10) specialty modules. Each module contains information related to specialized areas of application.  In Canada, the 10 most common modules are:

Prerequisites

Candidates are required to purchase the LATEST course materials from an official government body (e.g. Lakeland College of Alberta) prior to attending the course. The course material is a physical book that will be mailed to you. Digital copies are not available.

The course will be conducted in a fast pace. Candidates are required to review and have a basic understanding of the purchased course materials prior to attending the course.

Candidates must provide their own digital devices like calculator, laptop computers or any devices that can navigate the internet and perform calculations.

Candidates who enroll for Specialty Module must have passed the Core examination.

Course Logistics

The course will be conducted in a face-to-face setting at the venue arranged by Katch Kan Agro in Edmonton, Alberta.

The Core and Specialty Module will be arranged in a 5-day week, 8 hours daily which makes up to 40 hours of training.

NO video or audio recording is allowed during the course.  Candidates are required to shut off all mobile devices or switch to silence mode.

Katch Kan Agro can tailor the course for corporate clients and be conducted at client’s location.  Additional costs may apply.

The course is offered to prepare candidates to take the Certified Pesticide Applicator License of Canada examination.
